Sometimes silly ideas are fun to make and try. Ultimately this one was fun enough that I was able to sell a few to the general public. and make back the money it cost to make them.
To make the Chock-Knockers I purchase OTF switch blades, removed the blades, designed a replacement "blade" in the shape of a classic nut tool and then rebuilt the whole set up. Based on feedback from the climbing community, I added a UHMPWE lanyard for clipping to a carabiner and made the blade from 303 Stainless Steel.
I used Etsy to sell the extras. With a post to reddit to advertise the product, enough interest was generated to sell my limited quantity quickly. While it was fun to share the idea with the community, I don't think this is the next big thing in climbing!
