These micro manipulators use a series of flexures and levers to precisely position glass electrodes under binocular microscopes. The Bill Mobley Lab at UCSD used them to conduct research on Down Syndrome. By sending electrical pulses through neurons, researchers could test the effects of different drugs in-vitro (in a petri dish).

I designed the micro-manipulator as a set of laser-cut parts. Kits and instructions for assembly were given to lab technicians for production.
